My good friend caught a pretty serious infection recently. It really brought my attention to something I would have never known before. She has Eczema, yet she refused to go to the doctor about it. She would either ignore it or try to use home remedies for it. Now I am sure there ARE some home remedies that work, but she wasn't using any that were working.
If I had known this before I would have insisted that she go to the doctor. Now she wishes she had as well. It turns out that there are dangerous side effects when you allow Eczema to go untreated. I just want to make sure others who have, or know people who have, Eczema know to take it seriously.
The intense itching can cause a person to scratch and to cause the skin to dry and crack. At this point the person has a higher chance of catching an infection. If the infection is mistaken for more Eczema then the person can become very ill.
I think the best thing you can do is make sure the person has enough creams to make sure that doesn't happen. It is important to have your Eczema treated by a doctor because they can tell when there is an infection. You might miss it until it is too late so please make sure to see a dermatologist!
