It may result from sensitivity to certain foods, drugs, chemicals, material, or dusts.  Itching also varies widely in its nature, it may be general and nonspecific or it may be sharply localized and limited to one small area of the body. Scratching the spot may often give temporary relief, but itching may return with renewed discomfort. Worse, scratching can damage the skin. Pinching the skin near the site of an itch also gives relief, especially if done carefully and sparingly.

Tip #2: Eliminate the cause.

However, control elimination of itching depends on locating and eliminating the cause. For instance, the treatment of an allergy or sensitivity will remove the cause and cure the itching. Itching due to a lack of moisture in the skin may also be helped by repeated applications of bland lubricating ointments to relieve dryness and make the skin more flexible. In general, if itching without a specific cause is present, you may be able to relieve it by following some simple guidelines: if the skin is too dry, keep it moist or lubricated; while if the skin is overly moist, see to it that it is kept dry.

Tip #3: Get ready with the things needed.

You can start preparing ¼ cup pineapple juice, washcloths, a piece of pineapple and towel for relieving itchy skin.

Tip #4:  Prepare the pineapple.

Dispense the ¼ cup of pineapple juice above a dirt-free washcloth. Smudge a small amount of pineapple on your face, neck and other parts of your body that is dry and itchy. Fresh pineapples contain the ability to alleviate dehydrated, irritated skin.

Tip #5: Start the massage process.

Massage the piece of pineapple on the entire area of itchy skin and leave the juice at least 10 minutes or until it dries up on the skin.

Wash the skin with warm water, damp washcloth to get rid the pineapple juice and its add-on gumminess. Do not use soap in taking off the pineapple juice on the skin as it may aggravate the itchy skin predicament. Tap your skin dry using a dirt-free towel.
