Scabies is an itchy and highly contagious skin condition that is caused by an infection of the itch mite sarcoptes scabiei. Mites are very small eight-legged parasites. These parasites are so tiny which makes it impossible to see through the naked eye. They burrow into the skin that produces intense itching that gets worse at night. The mites that infect humans are females that measure only 0.3 to 0.4 mm long. These mites can also be seen through a magnifying glass or microscope. They crawl but they are unable to fly. They are motionless at temperatures below 20C but could still survive for long periods with this kind of temperature. The good news is you can get rid of scabies when you make a scabies treatment. Here are tips to help you with.
Tip #1: Establish common facts about scabies.
Scabies are very common and occurs worldwide no matter what race, age condition you have. Scabies has been usually reported to infect in epidemic in nursing homes, hospitals and other institutions all over the world. The mode of transmission of scabies is through skin to skin contact. The mites can live up to 14 days away from the host body.
Tip #2: Try neem oil.
All you need are neem oil and neem oil capsules. Just put 2 tablespoons of neem oil in a bath of water as scabies treatment. You can also mix neem oil with little amount of liquid soap then mix in a bath water. You can purchase neem oil at the local health food store near you.
Tip #3: Soak your body in the solution.
Soak your body in the water with neem oil for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Neem oil can relieve itching, swelling and will eventually kill the mites. After taking a bath, apply neem oil directly into the skin. Soak in a neem oil once a day for at least 7 to 10 days. You can also fight the infection internally by taking neem oil capsule twice a day for 2 weeks.
Tip #4: Wash your linens.
As soon as you find out that you are infected with scabies, wash all your lines immediately with hot water to kill the mite that stays on your linens. This would prevent mites from going into your skin again. Washing isn’t enough, so be sure to dry your linens in a dryer or if possible under the heat of the sun. You can use borax to wash your linens and clothing to surely kill the mites.
Tip #5: Change your bed linens.
Always change your bed linens and wash in hot water including your clothing. Remember, mites can survive for 2 weeks even outside your body. This will also prevent you from reinfestation. Take the precautions seriously along with using neem oil scabies treatment.
Tip #6: Try some medications.
You can also take some medications to relieve you from itching. Some medicines which you can purchase over-the-counter are oral antihistamines. This will not treat scabies but will only relieve itching caused by the skin problem.
Human scabies gets worse and worse unless treated immediately. You should then employ any of the medications provided above. Make your own or buy over-the-counter, that is always a solution to the problem.
